Independence Blue Cross (IBC) has partnered with Inovalon, a leader in health care data analytics, to identify members who may have gaps in their medical care. While IBC will not be reaching out to all members, those that are selected as part of this outreach will receive a letter from Inovalon and IBC. As explained in the letter, members will be encouraged to take a free health assessment at home or at a local Walgreens. Results of the health assessment will help indicate if further care is needed for a member. If so, the member will be referred to the medical management team at IBC for follow up. By being proactive and reaching out, IBC hopes to reduce costs, avoid future hospital visits and work towards a healthier lifestyle for its members.
