Aetna PA and OH Clients can Renew with Non ACA Plans for another Year
June 27, 2016
Based on guidance provided from CMS, small employers who currently have Aetna non Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans will be able to keep their current medical plans until December 31, 2017.
Aetna will then allow these groups to add a short contract period at the end of their 2016 policy cycle that will extend benefits to December 31, 2017. For example, if a group renews December 1, 2016 their renewal period would normally end November 30, 2017 but if they elect to add the short contract period their renewal for 2016 wouldn't end until December 31, 2017.
This should come as good news to small employers with non ACA plans who continue to benefit from medical underwriting.
